Chinese PV companysecures high-profile U.S.order

  Chinese solar photovoltaic (PV) enterprise Yingli Green Energy has inked acontract to supply 200-megawatt PV modules to a U.S. clean energy project, sourceswith Yingli told Xinhua on Thursday.

  They said the order, valued at more than 10 million U.S. dollars, withFluor Corporation, a Fortune 500 company that delivers engineering,procurement, construction, maintenance and project management around the world,was Yingli's largest to date.

  Under the contract, the modules will be used for the Centinela solarenergy project in California,which is designed to become one of the largest solar power plants in the world.

  Robert Petrina, general manager of Yingli in the United States,said that Yingli is very proud to be a supplier because Fluor has very highdemands on the quality and warranty of products.

  "In the United States,Yingli has become the prime cooperative partner of large-scale solar powerstation programs," said Mathew Sachs, business development manager ofYingli in the United States.

  Sachs said Yingli is confident to solve business and techniquedifficulties in any project like Centinela.

  The Centinela Project, situated on 1,600 acres approximately 90 miles eastof San Diego,is expected to be completed by the middle of 2014 and will power more than60,000 homes.
